My approach

The approach I take is Integrative, which means I bring together techniques and theories from several different modes of therapy. Some of the many therapeutic ideas I regularly draw from include:

- Psychodynamic, which like its precursor psychoanalysis probes the past and explores unconscious relationships
- Humanistic, which is rooted in the present and emphasises the importance of being your true self to lead the most fulfilling life
- Existential, which looks philosophically at humanity, celebrating our capacity to change whilst acknowledging our natural limitations
- Body psychotherapy, which focuses on the language of the body, movement, and breathing techniques for therapeutic benefit

With this integrative style, I work to tailor my therapy to the needs of each individual client. No two people are the same, and I believe that working with each person should be primarily about them, creating a collaborative and empathetic space in which the client can grow.

working together

I offer a free initial phone consultation which will usually take 15 minutes. This will allow you to ask me any questions, and we can discuss what may have led you to seek out therapy so that I can get a better understanding of your needs and what may be the best fit for you going forward.

Each of my sessions is 50 minutes long and they will be the same time each week. The slot will be yours as a guaranteed space for you for the duration of our work together.

In our first session, I may ask a few questions to gain more clarity on what your needs are, and to make sure you have space to talk about any aims or specific areas you might want to work on or explore. There will also be some time set aside for addressing the terms of how we will work together, and sorting out any logistical things such as payment, timeframes, and what to expect from the therapy going forward.

Pricing and practicalities

My standard rate is £80 per session. I appreciate that there are some people who would significantly benefit from therapy, but for whom this cost may not be feasible, and so in specific circumstances I am open to discussing a reduced rate.

I feel that more often than not, the way for clients to get the most out of our time together is through face-to-face therapy. This is my default offering, with rooms in a North London location. However, Covid has meant that many people are unable to meet in person, or feel unsafe to do so. This is, of course, totally understandable and currently most of my clients prefer to meet via video call. The most important thing for me, is that you are comfortable.
